Research into space is inherently the existential quest of man into what it means to be human. Spacetopia is a platform that explores the physical presence of Space on Earth through its cultural, (meta) physical and philosophical dimensions.
Mauve is a visual artist based in Paris, creating cinematographic and narrative photography series dealing with human interactions and conditions. His work raises questions about our future, the threats that our civilization is facing, the quest meaning and our relationship with technologies.
If we intend to go to Mars it makes sense to find out more about what we are going to eat there. Research has been done on space food (in tubes) and aquaponics, but why not simply use the soil at hand and our century-old knowledge of agriculture?
Spacetopia will research the resonances of Space Travel in the deserts of Arizona, New Mexico and Utah since the 1969 landing of the First Man on the Moon. The results will be presented during a live immersive experience in Amsterdam in 2020. In the upcoming years Spacetopia will continue to report on the metaphysics of space and the artistic output resulting from it
